Though the hysteria surrounding the attack continues to refer to the “sophisticated” nature of the “cyber attack” it is likely going to be much less than “sophisticated” in nature.
There are several articles that are panning the threat and hyped hysteria of cyber conflict through out the week. This is welcome if only a breath of wind before the hurricane of hysteria. With the release of the Department of Defense Strategy for Operating in Cyberspace on Thursday the admission of the release of 24K files in an intrusion and so much more. Well the week was very interesting. I was in attendance at the event where Deputy Secretary Defense Lynn and General Cartwright discussed the plan in depth and I did get to ask one question. The question and answer were on CSPAN and can be found in a variety of places. I was underwhelmed to not even link to it here.
