The domain of land

This is a concept map of the land domain (click on image to make larger)

A pretty simple project I’m working on is concept mapping domains. This is a reductionist effort (so therefore lossy) but it is kind of fun. Some of the basic rules are as follows.

It has to be defined by being of the domain of land. Therefore, rivers, lakes and beaches would be part of the land domain but oceans would not be. I may be showing my Navy/Marine Corps roots, but much like land defines the scope of a lake, the oceans define the scope of the land.

Another thing to think about is the caveats. Land has telecommunications but it is an element of infrastructures not merely a part of land. You can’t get there without going through something else first. Similarly the principle of ownership is defined by the rules of governance. Governance does not mean government. There is a substantial difference. Have fun looking through this, but more importantly make valid, thoughtful comments, and help me make it a richer paradigm.

Yeah, I’m crowd sourcing my homework. But, what I’m doing is significantly different. This is just a pattern to be followed. Sorry y’all have to log in on the blog to comment, but must keep spammers away.
