This morning marked the beginning of the 2013 Iron Butt Rally. I am not riding this year, so I am posting pictures of the event. These appear largely without comment. I hope these pictures capture the atmosphere. It was a raining morning. There was nervousness and excitement in the air as the riders went through the final odometer check, one last riders’ meeting, the command to start your engines, and finally the signal to go. It was certainly exciting to watch.
