As part of the experiential learning process students work is posted for comment. The students of the assured systems and design course have completed a document that is a comprehensive look at cyber response and counter measures. From the abstract:
This document presents a unified cyber incident response framework that is designed to meet the needs of government organizations as well as commercial information systems. This framework first focuses on establishing effective security policies and the technologies and materials necessary for implementing these policies. The framework also presents guidelines for responding to cyber incidents based on security policies that have been implemented. This section focuses on utilizing response mechanisms in order to work through an incident while maintaining some degree of normal functionality. Finally, this framework provides guidelines for recovering after an incident has subsided. These guidelines include methods for reestablishing normal operations and refining policies and procedures based on information gathered during previous incidents.
